History
- 1917
- The arrival of the Debs family from the Middle-East to Kobe, Japan. The first office is incorporated in Kobe. Textile trading began to which exports reach all parts of the world. The Debs family are renowned for textile trading in the Middle-East and Africa and owner of the largest textile dyeing factory in the Middle-East.
- 1932
- A. Debs & Co. is incorporated, a general trading export company based in Yokohama, Japan.
- 1950
- The Osaka branch of A. Debs & Co. established the Osaka office which till this day specializes and operates in the trading of textile piece goods.
A. Debs & Co. acquires Strong & Co. (Far East) Ltd, one of Japan’s oldest foreign trading houses, which was founded on July 23 1866 in Yokohama (Strong Yokohama Building No. 204 in the old foreign district). The Yokohama office has been operating since then in the groups’ original premises in trading activities, as well as the Kobe branch (established in 1871, Strong Kobe Building No. 96 in the old foreign settlement) which still operates in its original premises.
The Okinawa branch of Cal Orient Trading & Co (also member of Strong Group of companies) was established in Ginowan city. Cal Orient specialized in local trading in Okinawa.

- A. Debs & Co. established its Tokyo office in the Marunouchi business district.
With time, the companies consolidated under one mother company, Strong Group of companies.
